FREESTYLE 2.0 Bluejay

Just got them. Tried them on they fit good except the extra stitching flap (I don’t know what you call it), rubs on top of my pinky toe though it might get softer with wear and maybe the length should be 1 cm longer. As other people mentioned half sizes would be good to have. Either way it’s a good shoe, I do wonder how well it’ll hold up because I hear people say the adhesive isn’t as strong. I like the shoe, I do prefer it slightly wider (that’s my personal preference), since I like quite a lot of wiggle room but they fit my feet width well. For reference I’m a true size women’s US 6 and you can see my measurements in the pictures. Though I wonder how a size 7 might fit because for my size on the box it’s says it’s a eur 35 W6, but in eur I’m a 36 (this gets so confusing when eur sizing and American come into play together). Also finally there’s a nice regular shoe that fits the shape of feet, I hate the almond and pointy elf shoes that don’t even fit anyone’s toes. Though lots of these barefoot/minimalist/feet shaped shoes are ridiculously expensive, but I got mine for 48 dollars and would personally not pay more than 55 or so for these shoes. I like them though. They fit waaaaayyyyyyyy better than all the modern shoes and converse/vans. Finally my toes aren’t squished like a can of Vienna sausages.

I’m 38 and have been wearing minimal shoes since I was 24. Toe shoes, thin flexible Vibram soles, wide toe boxes—everything from five finger gloves to minimal boots. I really wanted a minimal shoe that looked…well…normal…for everyday wear. These were the answer! They have a wide toe box and are just super comfy. They don’t have the thin soles a true minimal shoe has, but I wanted a bit thicker sole that wouldn’t wear down so fast. They look like normal shoes I can wear with jeans. And fantastic price point! I’m typically a size 8.5 or 40 and bought a W9. Perfect fit! I’ll definitely buy more.

These are still good! But they measure to be narrower than the previous model. My feet can feel the difference — not as “free”, and more rubbing when I use toe spacers. I kinda miss the old styling, too. They were just a bit more unique!

The insoles are also somewhat disappointing. Not as comfortable as the old ones, though the old ones did slide around in my shoe as they got older.

All in all, I’m still very grateful for Splay and their foot-shaped products! Keep em coming!
