I was positively impressed by the construction, a true in-between to skate shoes and barefoot shoes. Great for everyday use and low impact skating. Also looks good. The “clowny” shape is slightly visible, but not an issue for me.
Unfortunately, despite using the built-in sizing tool, my “big toe” just about touches the end of the shoe, meaning I should have sized up 1/2 or 1 size. I hope the shoe will expand slightly. Living abroad, I don’t want to deal with additional shipping & border fees for a return. Speaking of which, the paperwork supplied by Splay was not sufficient for customs, so my country’s post service had to contact me to provide proof of value of purchase to clear the package for delivery.
Will buy again, but will size up.

These shoes are exactly what I'm been looking for in a skate shoe. My feet can finally relax and spread out like they should, giving me much better feel and control of my board. I've gotten compliments and inquiries from everyone from skaters to non skaters. I even had an employee in a running shoe specialty store asking about the brand and where they could buy them. They look great for casual wear with any pants or shorts, but best of all I can walk and skate all in these and feel great.
For size reference, I used the app they provided, which came out the same as what I wear in Adidas.

Really like these but ended up returning because the size wasn’t working for me. I am a 41/womens 10, but that was just a little too tight so I exchanged for a 42/11 which was too big. Needed an in between size. I really like how they look and the amount of room for the toes. I have splays in a different style in size 10 that fit great. Just varies from style. One thing about the design that I didn’t like is how pointy the corner of the big toe area looks, but it’s not that bad they still look cute.
