RUNNER V1 Track Black

I’ve always been a fan of retro runners - New Blance, Nike Cortez,etc… but stopped wearing them due to the narrow profile so I tried these. I got an all black pair first then bought these a week later cause they were so good. Super comfortable, I wear them without the insoles. Fit my feet perfectly this way without feeling cramped or loose either barefoot or with thin compression socks. I’ve had really thin foot shaped barefoot shoes like Softstars to highly cushioned Altras but I find these to be the perfect medium of no too thick or too thin. Thanks Splay! I’ll probably add more colors down to the road.

These kicks are everything I wanted: zero drop, wide toe box, and retro :) All other retro kicks — without naming names — had heel drops of 12mm!! Can you imagine, yikes! So, I searched high and low for a retro sneaker like this one. And when I finally found it, I couldn’t purchase it fast enough! They’re the BEST tennis shoes ever. They’re so comfy and versatile. I use them to do my kettlebell workouts, to go for an evening walk, to go shopping, to literally do anything. I love them. I also love that they have really good grippy soles with some really good cushion in them. I am so grateful to Splay. 🩵 I hope they continue to make them forever.

Side note: I got the top part of my right shoe a bit wet when outdoors and the material puffed up for about 2 days but eventually went right back down like nothing ever happened. Also, I’m a size 9, but I had an inkling that a size 8 would do and sure enough it did. However, my feet tend to be on the skinnier side of things, so I feel like that played a factor.
