Love these. They feel a little more cushy than typical splays, but have the same great foot shape and barefoot feel. I'm using them for lifting instead of running, and they're working great.

This was my first Splay purchase and I must say I'm in love!
I love the colors, the style, how comfortable the shoe is, that it's easy to put on, how they feel when I walk in them for an extended period of time, the price point, the thickness of the sole AND the added removable insole. These Splay Runner V1s are just right. One thing that helps me with flat, low volume feet is that the sole is thicker than some other barefoot shoes. It gives me the barefoot feel while also providing a little bit more support. This is the right sole thickness for my feet, style for what I usually wear, and functionality that I'm looking for in a good wide toe box shoe. I will definitely be ordering from Splay again. *standing ovation

Just got a pair in the mail so I can't such much about how good they will hold up.
The outsole is very stiff and reliable, it won't give at all, which is good.
The toe box gives a good amount of room for your toes to splay out.
The insole is removable. It has a small amount more of padding for the arch of your foot but it isn't a lot and you probably won't feel it if you have a high arch.
If you remove the insole, the inside is completely flat.
The shoe is more flexible than most non-barefoot shoes, I think, but it isn't very flexible because of the stiff outsole meant for running.

I have bought numerous styles of splay shoes for myself and my children. The runner V1 are my favorites. True to splay sizing. Already have two pairs and currently debating what color I need next. I am on my feet all day at work and these are my go to daily!

I’ve always been a fan of retro runners - New Blance, Nike Cortez,etc… but stopped wearing them due to the narrow profile so I tried these. I got an all black pair first then bought these a week later cause they were so good. Super comfortable, I wear them without the insoles. Fit my feet perfectly this way without feeling cramped or loose either barefoot or with thin compression socks. I’ve had really thin foot shaped barefoot shoes like Softstars to highly cushioned Altras but I find these to be the perfect medium of no too thick or too thin. Thanks Splay! I’ll probably add more colors down to the road.
