I was nervous but look better than I thought in person. I brought the LT canvas and the inserts because I was nervous about them being to flat. I am very new to barefoot shoes. I prefer them with the inserts in but I honestly think I could have gotten away without the inserts. Very comfortable shoe. ( I’ve only worn them around the house so far. Headed to the weight room later to really test them out. ) They don’t look like boats on my feet which I was worried about. I usually wear a 8.5 but decided to go with the 9 because I brought the inserts as well. No complaints so far.

Definitely has big toe box, lots of room! Runs a little big. I usually wear a 10 in Nike and Vans and mostly all other shoe brands except Adidas where I wear a 9.5, and the Splays were a bit roomy. I just walk in these, so the extra room was fine. They got a bit dirty quickly, which is to be expected given the canvas material. My one gripe is the ankle collar is quite unforgiving. Also, the foot bed absorbs a lot of sweat.

I’ve been wearing barefoot shoes for almost 3 years now. I skated in Etnies barge LS shoes for 5 years before switching to splay. I am a size 9.5 usually. The site said to size down so I did as instructed and ordered a size 9. I got the shoes and they didn’t fit, at all. It wasn’t even close, so I sent them back to get a size 10. Splay was quick to process my return and I was impressed by how smoothly it went.
I like these shoes, I’d prefer a stiffer heel, but ya can’t always get what you want. Maybe they fixed that on the newest skate shoe they just released a few weeks ago. The price is kinda high, I was really skeptical about ordering, but luckily there was a cyber Monday deal last month and I was able to score two pairs of neutral colored shoes for under $100 shipped. I guess that’s just how things are with tariffs.

I have been wearing barefoot shoes for about ten years. they have all been comfortable. But Splay has the widest toe box that I have found and I really needed that extra width. A good looking classic shoe, and comfortable. I both four pairs and wear them every day.
