I got these to have some casual shoes for skating and biking. I first ordered some and used the wrong sizing guide. The shoes were too small and I was quite sad. Second pair I may have gone slightly too big, but after wearing them for a day I find the extra room to be comfortable. I don't think there is a casual barefoot shoe that looks this great. Most barefoot footwear looks like clown shoes. These, of course, do look a little larger than what you'd be used to, but not bulbous and goofy looking like some. I think since these are skate shoes, and skate shoes tended to be bigger/poofier in ways, these don't stand out as "big."
Besides all that, they are constructed really well. I'm very impressed. Great design. Nothing sloppy, or goofy looking. I use the term goofy because in my experience that's just how barefoot shoes look. These are actually rad looking. Remember, skate shoes are a piece of sports equipment. They are intended to hold up to the rigors of grip tape, support your feet and ankles, and help you stand stable and absorb impacts. These do exactly that. If you want something more flexilbe, thinner, and more casual, don't buy a piece of sports equipment. Get a casual sneaker.
